Ingredients

  • 6-8 ounce white fish fillet tilapia
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil or butter
  • Salt & pepper to sprinkle

Instructions

  • Pat the fish dry by using a paper towel from both sides.
  • Sprinkle the top of the fish with salt and pepper gently.
  • Heat up the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once you see the slight bubbles, that means your pan is ready.
  • Layer the fish fillet in the pan, and the sprinkled side will go down first.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes without moving its position. When it’s time to flip, ensure that the inside area of the fish is crispy and golden brown.
  • While the first side is getting cooked, season the other side with salt and pepper.
  • Then flip the fish, and cook for another 2-3 minutes to get a similar crisp.
  • Once the fish fillet is ready, it will be smeared through and crumble easily.
  • Serve the crispy, delicious fish fillet straight out of the pan with some squeezed lemon on the top, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Choose the best fish according to your taste. Buy from an authentic store or get recommendations from experts.
  • To avoid the fish sticking to the pan, preheat the pan with oil for a few minutes.
  • Cooking fish in a warm pan works extensively without sticking.
  • Use fresh fish fillets within a few days. If you have frozen fish available, take it out 30 minutes before cooking, making it warm and effortless.
  • Once you have placed the fish in the pan, do not overcook it. If your fish fillet is thin, it will need only a minute to get ready, so try not to overdo it, and you will surely get the best results.
  • To make a proper meal, serve it with fries or fresh veggies; everyone will love it!
